PeTA 2010

this year supervising two students, ponnama (documentary) and nazieha (drama) with locations in bahau, n9 and the klang valley. had mixtures of fun and headaches caused by mixtures of elements. the 'bullfight' at serdang was something to cherish (sadly nobody took any pics on the incident). monkey attack at batu caves was also funny. hope they have enough material to edit the stuffs

mukah...the research

went to mukah, sarawak via bintulu recently (20 - 26jan) for aswara's theater faculty coalition with petrosains at sekolah kebangsaan dua sungai, mukah. they did a stint with the school children on penggunaan sains dalam teater sekolah2. our team was more on the documentation of d research on d arts among the melanau(s) in the area. from bintulu it was a bumpy (very gym like) 4hour ride (2hour just on the bumpy 51km!!!) but to my surprise....mukah is a modern town n wired!!! u can get wifi access anywhere!!! buat malu org semenanjung aje. we recorded quite a few events during the documentation and discovered some pleasant items along the way. dabai, a dates look-a-alike are to be soaked in warm water before melantak, the process of preparing sagu, tabaloi n ulat..ooppss (go to you tube) but were really mesmerised by the serene beauty of its culture. hoping for more such trips
