in the vein

The 1978 World Cup in Argentina was one of the most memorable ones because for the first time ever in Malaysia, we could watch a lot of games 'live' rather than just the semis and the final, like in 1974, but still to me, the 1974 final was the best ever.  Style berbaris in one line (see Holland) before the start of each game by the teams masa that world cup menjadi ikutan budak2 sekolah St. John, Tuaran masa kena jemur kat tengah-tengah sekolah.  Dalam panas itupun sempat juga...fuyoo macam world cup lah... he he

sights

Learned this trade from my eldest brother who taught me a lot about photography.  Learned some more during my ITM days.

a hard day's night

I started working in 1990 after graduating from ITM (nasib baik pass he he).  After a few stints here and there, I managed to get a permanent job at Cinematic Sdn. Bhd. as a Video Editor and left the company in 2006 and since then had been freelancing here and there (btw had a hard time convincing my parents that freelancers were getting paid for their services he he).  Most of the time I was handling the documentary part for the company and involved with documenting several mega projects and met a handful of nice people along the way.  I dedicate these memories to our late cameraman and a very good friend, Allahyarham Azmi Aziz (below, 2nd from left, taken at Pergau Dam)

Please click on the pictures...if you're lucky, it can grow bigger hehehe

the team

The only time that we can have our pictures taken together is during Hariraya, weddings or outings.  Here are some taken before 2001 and some recent ones.  I like to take when they are not ready hehehe

once upon a time

THE FAMILY
We are from the state of Melaka, but most of us spent about 17 years in Tuaran, Sabah when our late father was lecturing at Kent College from November, 1970 until he retired in 1987 (it was supposed to be a two-year stint), but he and we, liked the place, so...

THE HUT
Note the collage of our rented houses / Tuaran's landmarks, in Tuaran.  The 1st one was situated near the college's hockey field (now occupied by a new mosque) and the 2nd one was located at the bank of Sungai Tuaran (now a 'tasik ladam').  Most of my really free times were spent at the bank of the river...fishinglah apa lagi!!! Once we went menjala n caught half a baldi of udang galah...sambal udanglah jawabnya he he.  Sadly these houses are on the verge of being torn down for I don't know what.  Heard from the people around there that all houses/hostels etc facing the river will be demolished for new structures.  Would be nice if they can just refurbish the old buildings which have some unique architecture
