Political Economy of H1N1...not B1N1

This pandemic (should we call it 'bala'?) is getting out of control and lately, the amount of death in our country is increasing by the numbers and sadly, the actions by some quarters are quite pathetic to me.  Temporary closure of some institutions and letting those may be affected by it to go back to their hometown, may worsen the situation, if any of them are carriers of the disease.  The authority should quarantine and monitor them for any signs of 'irregularities.  Could the 'political economy' of having to fork out some amount to take care of these people be the deciding factor to let them loose?  Or the 'none of my damn business'? Or I have a 'reputation to upkeep'?  Or they want to wait for somebody 'up there' to be infected for them to get cracking?

The very reason for writing this one here (had written a few to those with 'power') is because a niece in a boarding school is suspected of having the symptoms of the thing (about 150 of her school mates are going thru the same problem) with temperature at around 38'C (don't know how to type that 'o') and yet the hospital did not test the suspected with the Influenza procedure (like taking sample of the saliva, etc).  I have majored in Dengue and found that some of our medical personnel, especially those at the 'triage' counters are not 'capable' people.  Just by looking at your face, they can 'tell' (some of them might have telepathy expertise in 'tale tell signs') that you are not 'in danger'.  After 'forcing' my way in and after having my blood sample taken, only then, I was confirmed and warded for dengue.  So guys, frankly, please increase our knowledge for better 'self assessment' and never let those 'jokers' decide on your fate!!!  Btw glad to hear a dear friend has passed her dengue 'exam' with flying colours...
