AL-FATIHAH...our dearly beloved grandfather(the eldest brother to my grandmother on my mother's side) passed away yesterday morning (around 6.14am) at bukit rambai, melaka. famously known as 'Long Mat', he really had a 'long' life. aged 96 (dlm ic 89yrs). always smiling and soft spoken to the young and old (tapi garang to anak-anak dia hehe). he was the eldest in his family and the last to 'go'. two month ago his eldest son passed away and since then he started to be more quiet and more to himself. a very hard working man, even during his granddaughter's wedding few months ago, i saw him holding a 'good morning' towel, trying to clean the tables. a person who would quietly excuse himself after an event (pernah sekali dia senyap-senyap nak balik rumah dia n nak naik bas saja after a wedding). so for longer life, buatlah kerja2 sawah n eat what you tanam sendiri...less toxic

yesterday went to sekinchan with nasrul to his kampung (parit 8, sekinchan) for my biannual fishing trip...more like menangguk di air keruh hehehe. it's menuai season and the pesawah dah mula keluarkan air dari petak to the taliair nearby so along with the water are the fishes yang membiak for six month. what we usually do just pasang net (they called it jut) at saluran paip besar (about 6 inches) and wait for the ikans to tersangkut...what a catch!!!

down and out
Palm size pic of the rashes around the body
Had one of the scariest experiences last week. on the 12th of june, after falling sick since tuesday (10th june), I was admitted at Hospital Ampang for dengue. The blood count dropped from 83 (upon admission) to 15 and slowly improved from there. Told my family to push the 'panic button' if it went below 10 but thank God it didn't. Realised how fragile life can be. How a small nyamuk can do such damage to.. Had to scrap some appointments during the week and thanks to those who susah payah pergi cari ketam to buat soup and sorry to those who were not told about it. And thanks for the encouragement and prayers. Monday 23june2008, went to Klinik Kesihatan Nilai for blood test and the result was positive(ly good count 217) so hopefully no more visits to the hospital (ramai dracula kat hospital Ampang asking for blood tgh2 malam hehehe)

bakawali
Went back to Pengkalan Balak last weekend and we were lucky to watch the blooming of this flower. It was supposed to bloom only once and will only start late at nite and would be fully bloomed before dawn. Bunganya emerge from tepi-tepi daun. Here some pics for your enjoyment. Btw ada satu on pucuk mangga
